While her class is preparing for an excursion, Sarajevo teenager Iman attracts the attention of an older boy. During a game of ‘truth or dare’ she invents a story that she had sex, but the rumor runs through the school and things spin out of control. Excursion is the long-awaited full-length debut of Bosnian director Una Gunjak, whose short The Chicken, a Croatian co-production, won the EFA Award in 2014. Excursion premiered at the Locarno Film Festival, winning a Special Mention.

Una Gunjak (Sarajevo, 1996) studied film art in Italy and film editing at the NFTS in the UK. Her short film The Chicken (2014) premiered in the Critics’ Week section of the Cannes Film Festival and won the EFA Award for Best Short, while her short Salamat from Germany (2017) opened the Directors’ Fortnight section in Cannes. Excursion is her debut feature.
