It is always hard to make a compilation of short films, especially if one wants to offer an idea of what kind of films are made in one’s country. This small glimpse branches in many directions and hopefully the viewers will find them enjoyable, interesting, touching and funny. The animated film is a reminder of the sometimes-painful Finnish history, but also highlights Finland’s two national languages – Finnish and Swedish. The films also underline the fact that Finland is changing in many ways, becoming a home for people who do not look like your stereotypical Nordic person, speaking in a multitude of languages. There are some other Finnish scenes too, as well as the answer to the question of where old books go to die.
