The classical drama about a neglected girl, set amidst the lush greenery of the Irish countryside, will be presented by the director personally. The winner of this year\u2019s Berlinale, the spirited and shocking Catalan drama <a href=\"https:\/\/zff.hr\/en\/movies\/alcarras\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em>Alcarr\u00e0s<\/em><\/strong><\/a> by <strong>Carla Sim\u00f3n <\/strong>screens at 1 PM and 9 PM.<\/p>\n<p>The short film competition starts in Kinoteka Cinema at 10 PM. The national program <strong>Checkers<\/strong> brings films from authors who have already participated in it: <strong>Jakov Nola<\/strong> (<em>Counter-Offensive<\/em> &#8211; ZFF 2017 &#8211; special mention; <em>Homely<\/em> &#8211; ZFF 2019) presents his short film <a href=\"https:\/\/zff.hr\/en\/movies\/christmas-eve\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em>Christmas Eve<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, while <strong>Bojan Radanovi\u0107<\/strong> (<em>Before Dark<\/em> &#8211; ZFF 2016 and <em>Letters<\/em> &#8211; ZFF 2019) presents <a href=\"https:\/\/zff.hr\/en\/movies\/fender\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em>Fender<\/em><\/strong><\/a>. <strong>International short films <\/strong>will be screened at the same time: the Swedish <a href=\"https:\/\/zff.hr\/en\/movies\/berry-pickers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em>Berry Pickers<\/em><\/strong><\/a> by <strong>Agnes Skonare Karlsson<\/strong> and <a href=\"https:\/\/zff.hr\/en\/movies\/the-affront\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em>The Affront<\/em><\/strong><\/a> by <strong>Jonas Ulrich.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Screenings from three other programs also start at the same place: <strong>The Great 5, Together Again<\/strong> and <strong>KinoKino.<\/strong> Every day during the festival, noon at Kinoteka is reserved for the youngest audience, and the first of the KinoKino titles is <a href=\"https:\/\/zff.hr\/en\/movies\/my-dad-is-a-sausage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em>My Dad is a Sausage<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (ages 10+), the unforgettable adventure starring <strong>Johan Heldenbergh<\/strong> (<em>Alabama Monroe<\/em>). The Great 5 opens with the British film <a href=\"https:\/\/zff.hr\/en\/movies\/aftersun\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em>Aftersun<\/em><\/strong><\/a> by <strong>Charlotte Wells,<\/strong> a beautiful drama which develops with the gradual poignancy of a Polaroid (IndieWire) produced by Oscar winner <strong>Barry Jenkins<\/strong> and starring BAFTA winner <strong>Paul Mescal<\/strong> (<em>Normal People<\/em>). Twenty years after his first film <em>Fuse<\/em> opened the 1st ZFF, the Together Again program features <strong>Pjer \u017dalica\u2019s <\/strong>newest film, the dark humour drama <a href=\"https:\/\/zff.hr\/en\/movies\/may-labour-day\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em>May Labour Day<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, which was seen by 10 000 people on its opening weekend in Bosnia and Herzegovina.<\/p>\n<p>The Great 5 is being shown at the Museum of Modern Art, where at 6 PM we have <a href=\"https:\/\/zff.hr\/en\/movies\/lullaby\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em>Lullaby<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, an intimate drama about mothers and motherhood by <strong>Alauda Ruiz de Azua<\/strong> and <strong>Laia Costa<\/strong> (<em>Only You<\/em> &#8211; ZFF 2019) in the lead role. Pedro Almod\u00f3var called <em>Lullaby<\/em> the best Spanish debut film in the last few years. <strong>The Network of Festivals in the Adriatic Region\u2019s <\/strong>program in the MSU will feature <a href=\"https:\/\/zff.hr\/en\/movies\/alma-viva\/\"><strong><em>Alma Viva<\/em><\/strong><\/a> by <strong>Crist\u00e8le Alves Meira,<\/strong> the Portuguese Academy Award candidate, a charming film about growing up, witchcraft, and grief. Aside from MSU, The Network of Festivals in the Adriatic Region\u2019s program will be available online at <a href=\"http:\/\/ondemand.kinomeetingpoint.ba\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>ondemand.kinomeetingpoint.ba<\/strong><\/a> during ZFF.<\/p>\n<p>In KIC Dokukino we will remember the <strong>winning documentaries of ZFF<\/strong> from a time when documentaries were in the running for the Golden Pram. The first among them is <a href=\"https:\/\/zff.hr\/en\/movies\/slaughter-nick-for-president\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em>Slaughter Nick for President<\/em><\/strong><\/a> by <strong>Rob Stewart<\/strong>, a ZFF award-winning film from 2012, which screens on Monday at 8 PM.
