The sixth day of the 17th Zagreb Film Festival will be marked by the premiere of the Danish Oscar candidate, the erotic drama directed by <\/span>May el-Toukhy<\/b><\/span> about the affair of a successful lawyer and her significantly younger stepson which opens a whole range of moral and ethical questions. <\/span>Queen of Hearts<\/i><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0<\/span>will be screened at 9:30 AM and 8 PM at Tu\u0161kanac Cinema.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Dutch drama <\/span>Afterlife <\/i><\/strong><\/a><\/span>from the PLUS<\/strong><\/a> program, which is selected and awarded by Zagreb highschoolers, will be screened from 2 PM at Tu\u0161kaanc. In the Great 5<\/strong><\/a> program, the Spanish drama <\/span>The August Virgin <\/i><\/a><\/strong><\/span>will be screened at 5 PM at Tu\u0161kanac Cinema. This new film by the renowned Spanish director <\/span>Jon\u00e1s Trueba <\/b><\/span>is an atmospheric portrait of a long hot summer in the Spanish capital which received a Special Jury Mention in Karlovy Vary. The program for the youngest cinephiles continues at 5 PM in the Museum of Contemporary Art with the Danish adventure film <\/span>Land of Glass<\/strong><\/a>.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

The new film by <\/span>Gabriel Mascaro <\/b><\/span>Divine Love<\/strong><\/i><\/a><\/span>\u00a0will be screened at 7 PM at the Museum of Contemporary Art within the competition program Together Again<\/strong><\/a>. This intoxicating work is a neon-colored religious dystopia in which gospel and erotica intertwine in order to narrate a relevant story about religion and power.<\/span><\/p>\n

The program at the Museum of Contemporary Art continues at 9 PM with the film from the Great 5 program, <\/span>La Belle \u00c9poque <\/i><\/strong><\/a><\/span>by <\/span>Nicolas Bedos,<\/b><\/span> a quirky rom-com about a grumpy 60-year-old Victor (Daniel Auteuil) who is convinced his best days are long gone.<\/span><\/p>\n

The program My First Film: In memoriam<\/strong><\/a> continues in KIC with the key work of the Czechoslovak New Wave, <\/span>Milo\u0161 Forman\u2019s<\/b><\/span> first feature film <\/span>Black Peter<\/strong><\/a>, <\/i><\/span>filmed in a <\/span>cin\u00e9ma v\u00e9rit\u00e9 <\/i><\/span>style with the camera buzzing around the characters played by non-professional actors, it depicts the atmosphere of an ordinary summer in a small Czech town in the early 60\u2019s. The program in KIC continues at 9 PM with the side program Festivals in the Spotlight<\/strong><\/a>. For the third year running, the collaboration with the Venice Film Festival<\/a><\/strong> continues, and tonight five short films from the special selection will be screened for the Zagreb audience.<\/span><\/p>\n

The day ends in Tu\u0161kanac Cinema at 10:30 PM with the program of international short films<\/strong><\/a> and Croatian short films, Checkers<\/strong><\/a>. The program features <\/span>Father-time <\/i><\/strong><\/a><\/span>by Bulgarian director <\/span>Martin Iliev, <\/b><\/span>and <\/span>She Runs<\/a>\u00a0<\/i><\/strong><\/span>by Chinese director <\/span>Qiu Yang. <\/b><\/span>Checkers will present the new film by <\/span>Jakov Nola, <\/b><\/span>Homely<\/a>\u00a0<\/i><\/strong><\/span>and <\/span>Labour Day Waltz<\/i><\/strong><\/a><\/span>\u00a0by Zoran Stojkovski<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Industry<\/strong><\/a> program continues on Wednesday with the panel Can you make an artistic hit game?<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/span>From 3 PM at HUB385 in Petra\u010di\u0107eva 6. The panel is moderated by <\/span>Sr\u0111an Laterza, <\/b><\/span>author of the <\/span>Interactive empathy <\/b><\/span>project, in which video game designers, artists, educators and representatives of governing bodies from Croatia, Germany and France will participate.
